The Whistling Tree
2024, 80 × 80 × 80 cm
Interactive Sound Installation
The Whistling Tree is an interactive sound installation created for the Circles of Universal Language exhibition at Dutch Design Week 2024, in collaboration with the City of Eindhoven, Dutch Invertuals and EDHV.
Visitors record short whistles that are replayed and layered into an evolving collective soundscape. Drawing on the social experience of birdsong, the installation turns individual contributions into a shared auditory environment.
The project explores how a simple, playful interaction can create connection across time and space.
